Our office specializes in criminal law covering the entire spectrum of the contemporary needs in the life of a European citizen. We also emphasize on the tackling of all legal issues containing singularities and special conditions that are inextricably related to Balkan citizens. It goes without saying that we uphold all principles of legal and professional ethics, while performing our best so as to meet with our clients’ demands and expectations.
Our aim is to firmly defend and promote human rights in the context of a constantly changing geopolitical environment, where individual rights are subsiding under the pretext of the proliferation of terrorism, the growing dimensions of cybercrime and the tendency of the harmonization of national criminal laws in the alter of the international cooperation between states.
This effort to balance the interests of all parties involved is clearly expressed within the framework of the extradition and respectively execution of a European arrest warrant, where the difference in the human rights protection between the requesting state (the state demanding the extradition) and the requested state (the state receiving an extradition demand) becomes crystal clear. Moreover, our goals are achieved when any national court’s rulings based on formalities rather than on solid legal grounds are found incompatible with the European Convention on Human Rights by the European Court of Human Rights (a court that is, beyond any shadow of doubt, more competent in this matter than any other judicial authority).
We should all bear in mind that unfortunate or precarious circumstances could lead any of us in the unpleasant position of the accused party. Therefore, it needs to be established and guaranteed that no citizen will be deprived of his/her right to a fair trial.
